HBI-DC hosted a breakfast picnic for the MCM and MCM 10K runners down by the Tidal Basin in downtown Washington, D.C. on a beautiful Sunday morning on September 29.
"We want to support and thank them for supporting and running for HBI-DC," said HBI-DC Executive Director Jane Pan. "We provided our runners with the opportunity to meet each other before the race at the end of October."
The MCM and MCM 10K races, which will be held on Sunday, October 27, provides an opportunity for runners to fundraise for an organization or a cause--all while getting exercise! MCM runners committed to raising $500 and 10K runners committed to raising $50 for HBI-DC.

The most contentious topic of the day? What color the HBI-DC MCM shirts should be. "What about hot pink?" asked Ms. Pan. "I don't think the men would want to wear hot pink shirts," responded Dana Chapnick, an HBI-DC MCM runner.
As the picnic came to an end, one thing was certain: the shirt should be a neon color. Everyone parted at noon, excited to see each other at the race on Sunday, October 27.
